THAT CAN HELP & PROTECT EVERY CHILD

Pediatric SANE

Our Pediatric SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) offers specialized medical examinations and services at no charge to children who present with concerns or disclosures of sexual abuse and exploitation. The services are delivered in a compassionate, coordinated, and comprehensive manner that is responsive to each child's developmental, physical, emotional, and cultural needs.

Pediatric SANEs are specially trained and certified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to perform quality forensic medical-legal exams. Children who cannot be seen by the Pediatric SANE at the Middlesex CAC are referred to community hospitals for medical evaluation and forensic evidence collection.

In addition to her direct care work, Mildrine provides medical consultation to the MDT members, testifies as a fact and expert witness in criminal cases, and provides community education and trainings about child sexual abuse and the benefits of the CAC approach.

Mildrine received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Mildrine is fluent in Haitian-Creole.
